Forum Title: Pennco Windows
We bought a home with 4yr old vinyl Pennco windows. We didn't realize how horrible they were. Only a few of them will actually close. You can't push any of them down in the frame enough to actually lock them. Therefore we are loosing all our heat and cool air. I wanted to know if there is anything we can do to correct them, without having to buy all new windows. Any help would be great.

Check your local hardware store, they should have repair kits for the balance (corkscrew rod). If not I'm sure there are other repair products they could suggest.

I am not sure. All I see is the white vinyl coverings on the bottom. I tried to see if there was anything on the bottom that would come up and I couldn't get anything loose. The strange thing is that we have several windows like this. I actually got some of them back in the spring to lock. I am afraid to ever open them again. I have tried multiple times and tempatures to get the others closed. They are just a tiny bit away from being able to lock. It is so frustating. Do people actually come out to repair windows. And would I just call a window person. I actually bought some new windows for some of our old windows and I told the sales person about it and they just want to replace them. They don't even look at them. We can't afford to replace them. We still have more wood windows to replace. Thanks for your response.
