Make sure that your home is prepared for visitors that may arrive in the evening hours. It gets dark very early this time of year, so making sure that all the exterior lights around your home are working is a very good idea to help keep visitors safe. If you have a walkway into your home that has any steps or rocks, have lights installed around the pathway to make sure your visitors don?t trip while coming into your home.
Prepare your living area by cleaning up clutter and dusting, making sure to dust in the high corners of rooms to remove any cobwebs that have appeared. You should also schedule a professional carpet cleaning this time of year to make sure your carpet is looking clean and fresh for when your visitors arrive.
Have your windows professionally cleaned as well. This is something you should have done once a year- windows both inside and out should have a good clean.
Make sure that your guest bedrooms are fully stocked with whatever your guests may need. A wall mirror, fresh towels and fresh bed linens are all things that should be present in your guest bedroom.
Once your home is prepared for the holidays, you can start thinking about the more important things like all the gift buying you still need to do and then the all-important holiday meal planning!
